When Johnny finds his life isn't to his satisfaction, he decides to do nothing about it. He notices that the number of things that go wrong in a person's life are directly proportional to the number of things that a person does. So Johnny decides, quite simply, to do less. All this changes when a young woman brushes past him in a café, spills his coffee, breaks his walkman and forces him to consider returning to the rough and tumble of romance. But when the career break he's been waiting for arrives with the chance to live in San Francisco, he is forced to consider what he really wants out of life.
