Once again Hitchcock masterfully delivers suspense by placing ordinary people in extraordinary situations. Although I think Vertigo and Rope were better Hitchcock films that starred Stewart, I nevertheless heartily recommend The Man. Stewart was very convincing in his 'everyman' role as usual. I beg to differ with the commentator who was not impressed with Doris Day's performance. I thought she played the concerned mother and devoted wife perfectly and her rendition of Que Sera Sera was quite moving. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. The cinematography was also very beautiful to behold. The score wasn't quite as ominous as in other Hitchcock films but then again music was utilized as almost part of the plot itself so that might explain it.
