At Treccabyte Tower, five people are working at the weekend: The bored CEO Mr Floss, his head of legal affairs the recently divorced Mrs Peters, her nervous assistant Joyce and security guard Dan who's convinced that janitor Ramon has been stealing. They are all unaware that they have each been implanted with a new, experimental microchip, dubbed Splinter, by well-intentioned psychiatrist Dr Lexington. This chip accesses the deepest thoughts and emotions of the unknowing guinea-pigs through a computer, with the findings witnessed by the doctor and her mysterious financial backers. Originally it was designed to aid human interaction and help people, but soon the risky technology and unknown consequences of Splinter arise for all involved.
impressive set pieces, a taut script that blends drama with a fine sense of the surreal and strong acting...this is a must see - Leeds International Film Festival, the cast is uniformly excellent - Dark Horizons
